Hellboy II: The Golden Army
I got a look at the new Hellboy II: The Golden Army trailer and I have to admit... I'm impressed. Maybe it's the special effects eyecandy that's dazzling me, but whatever - I'm excited to see this one.

Uhh... Yikes!
As a long-tme fan of the Mike Mignola comic series, I was extremely pleased with the handling of the first Hellboy movie. I am often concerned when beloved characters from one medium are moved into another, but I felt they managed to capture the feeling of the books quite well. The trailer is impressive, even if it is CGI-laden. The costumes and design seem to be very well thought out and original... I mean, get a look at the Evil Angel With A Broken Dinnerplate For a Skull above. YIKES!
Ron Perlman is absolutely the best choice they could have made to play the title role, and it's great to see the original cast back for the sequel - I can't think of a single case where I've been pleased that they replaced a cast member in a sequel. Perlman himself certainly has a knack for playing "freak" type roles. I first recall him as Vincent in the television show "Beauty and the Beast" and he was fantastic in that role too.

Awwwyeah!
In any case, I don't often get excited about movies these days, but this one has so far managed to at least get me interested!
